Nexity Network is moving the industries toward sustainable business practices. Whether they're trying to reduce emissions or refine their supply chain operations to minimize material waste, we are here to work together for a more green future.
The Framework
Supply chain traceability is one of the most promising use cases to benefit from characteristics of blockchain, such as decentralization, immutability, and transparency, which are not required to build prior trust relationships among entities.
Many supply chain traceability solutions based on blockchain have been launched recently. However, current systems are limited to tracing simple goods that have not been part of the manufacturing process.
We recommend a method that allows for the traceability of manufactured goods, including their components. Products are represented using non-fungible digital tokens created on a blockchain for each manufactured product batch.
To create a link between a product and the components needed to produce it, we include “token recipes” that define the amount of tokenized goods required for minting a new asset.
As input tokens are automatically and transparently consumed when creating a product token, the physical process of producing a new item out of existing components is projected onto the blockchain's transparent ledger. This ultimately leads to the complete traceability of goods, including the origin of inputs.
The customers are the heart of supply chains, and to create a holistic view of the processes behind designing, creating, and shipping the product, Nexity Network uses NFC Chips and RFID Tags.
Why Sustainable Printing?
Nexity's chips and tags are built in-house to control the material composition and green requirements:
- Safe: The label poses no harm to human health or the environment;
- Effective: Provides value and supports responsible decision-making;
- Efficient: Uses and maximizes green materials;
- Cyclic: Enterprises use end-of-life guidelines, eco-friendly packaging, materials, and inks;
Nexity's Printing Strategy
The world's environmental consciousness is at an all-time high: 56% of the global population.
Therefore, customers are more likely to buy products encapsulating sustainable printing and packaging than those made without.

Inks
It's tough to keep a decent visual identity with 100% sustainable ink; there's a hierarchy of inks we use, with some being more eco-friendly than others.
The UV Inks are the most used ones – instantly drying the ink and releasing 99.5% fewer organic components using UV light. Plus, the electronic beam eliminates the need for additional coatings and protectants, unlike conventional volatile inks.
Substrates
While paper and corrugated boards are perhaps the best options for a high recycling rate, Nexity Network uses biodegradable plastic films that are 100% recyclable. The latest innovations in plastic packaging made this technology less of a target for environmentalists.
Coatings and Adhesives
Inks and substrates are just two aspects of the printing process. Coatings and adhesives represent another essential stage, and Nexity Network is replacing synthetic adhesives with gluten and casein derived from animal proteins, plant proteins from potatoes, or corn starch.
What is Nexity Network?
Nexity Network is building a blockchain-enabled, circular, more transparent, and productive world to rethink how everything is designed, created, used, and recycled, from the food we eat to the clothes we wear and how we do business.
Nexity is creating the next economy to serve as a bridge for the companies and customers to enable transparently, responsible, and secure product/service flows. Our ecosystem is positioned to solve supply chain complexities, focusing on day-to-day operational activity from environmental damages, visibility gaps to trust between parties, and fragmented data exchange.
